Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope (GMRT) is the world's largest array of radio telescopes at metre wavelengths.

It is operated by the National Centre for Radio Astrophysics - Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai.

STUDENT PROGRAM

NCRA runs both short and long term student technical training program. The short term programs are mainly during the summer and are meant for students in their pre-final year. The long term program runs during the academic year and are meant for final year students. Generally students from Pune are considered for the long term program.

The SP programs are open to students in their pre-final/final year of

• BE/BTech (Any Branch) - Work location GMRT site Khodad
• MSc (Physics/Astronomy) - Work location NCRA, Pune

Projects are offered in a wide range of topics including

• Electronics (Analog/Digital)
• Instrumentation
• Signal Processing
• Data Analysis and Image Processing

How to apply :

• Finalise your area of interest 
• Apply Online from here and take printout
• Note down "Application ID"
• Download form for referee from same page and take two hardcopies
• Write Application ID on it and put them in separate unsealed envelopes 
• Handover the envelopes to the referee,the referees are required to fill up the letter and return the sealed envelope to the candidate
• Kindly mention the name of candidate, the referee name and application ID on the envelope
• Under no circumstances, the filled referee form is to be returned to the candidate in a open condition or unsealed envelope
• You are required to mention Application ID :"SP......" on the envelope. The signed application form alongwith the two sealed envelopes, containing the referee letters with entries from referees are to be send to the below address
